A long, exiting walk over old stone staircases steep up the north walls (sure-footedness required!) with fantastic views over Wadi Bani Awf and Balad Seet then over the high plateau and down on the south slopes past old villages towards the famous mountain village Misfat Al A’briyeen (200km from Muscat) – Start W9
Donkeys can be rented, if ordered in advance locally in Misfat (tel.:9348440).

Start W 10h : Alternatively the walk can start from 2000m altitude at the high point of the HAAT road.
From Muscat via Nakhl: 120km + 50km graded road, (can be very difficult shortly after rain),
From Muscat via Nizwa 195km + 15km graded.

Walking time: W8+W9 - 7 to 8 hrs, W10h – 2 hrs
Altitude: 900 meter to 2000m and down to 900m, around 2000m for W10h
